FTC teams devoted considerable time designing paper drones and the launchers. However, their performance in the competition often lasts only a fleeting moment and has minor impact on final scores. In recognition of the team’s design capabilities, we come up with this game.
- Each team will have up to 3 chances to participate in this challenge.
- During each round, each team can launch up to 10 drones.
- There are 3 designated drone landing areas (5-gallon buckets), positioned according to FTC rules.
- Each landing area has a its own score defined according to FTC rules.
- Teams earn a bonus score if all 3 drone landing areas are occupied; in such cases, the total score is doubled.
- All other scoring rules for each task follow those outlined in the FTC Center Stage game (game manual here).
- At the end of each round, sum up all scores.
- The highest score achieved across the three rounds will be used as the final metric score.
- If there is a tie for the highest score, the second highest score will be used to break the tie. If there is still a tie, the third score will be considered. If ties persist, the game will be replayed until a tie breaker is resolved.
