Lecture Introduction
SketchUp, formerly Google Sketchup, now owned by Trimble Inc, is an entry-level 3-D design tool for everyone. It is powerful and easy to use, ideal for beginners. it has wide range of drawing applications and model warehouses for architectural, interior design, landscape architecture, civil, mechanical engineering, film and video game design. It is available as a freeware version, SketchUp Make, and a paid version with additional functionality, SketchUp Pro.
Sketchup 3D modeling will prevent space conflicts, design pitfalls. Since robots are expensive machines, it will save you big mount of money and time.
In this lecture, you will learn the basic steps to do robot design. This lecture is one of mandatory courses to be admitted to our robotic teams. You should take it before any advanced mechanics lectures.
