Return to Saduka

Welcome to The Saga of Robot PU. This isn’t just a science fiction story; it’s the driving force behind our 12-week robotics camp program. We’ve mapped a 12-chapter narrative directly onto our camp curriculum, meaning each week’s camp is a new episode in the adventure. By blending immersive storytelling with hands-on robot construction and programming, students are inspired to master new skills as they play a crucial role in Robot PU’s journey.

Overview of Saga Camps :
Robot PU, a small reconnaissance unit from the peaceful planet Saduka, crashes on Earth after his ship is attacked by the oppressive Shadow Empire. Orphaned and damaged, he is discovered by a group of brilliant Earth kids. Over 12 chapters, one week per chapter (10 fun learning sessions per chapter), campers will repair robot PU, upgrade his systems, build a resistance fleet, and journey across the stars to send robot PU back to his home world.

Act I: The Arrival & The Signal

Objective: Establish communication, secure a safe haven, upgrade basic physical mechanics, and secretly contact the Saduka resistance.

Chapter & Camp NameDescription & Story ContextContexts (Skills & Themes)Relation to Robot PU
1. AI Companions: First Contact

The Discovery: Kids find the stranded orphan, Robot PU. They must build and program interactive modules to communicate, understand his language, and become his friend. In summary, robot PU healed.Human-computer interaction, artificial intelligence, behavioral programming, basic coding.Acts as the interactive “alien” hardware. Campers program him to respond to touch, sound, and light to establish communication.
2. Smart Robot City: The Hidden Base

Building Sanctuary: To hide from Empire scouts, the kids help PU build a secret, self-sustaining underground robot city where all automated systems work together. Robot PU got a sweet and safe home.Internet of Things (IoT), systems thinking, sensor integration, 3D printing.Multiple units act as the city’s central mainframe, managing resource sensors and communicating to keep the base hidden.
3. Robot Olympics: Upgrading Agility
Physical Training: Earth’s gravity is different from Saduka’s. Campers must redesign PU’s chassis and build robotic athletes to teach him how to run, jump, and balance.Biomechanics, specialized locomotion, friction, cooperative programming.Provides the brain for the new athletic bodies, learning diverse motor controls and multi-robot team coordination.
4. Robotic Arts: The Secret Signal

The Broadcast: PU needs to contact remaining Saduka resistance fighters. Kids program robots to use music, dance, and light to broadcast a beautifully encrypted distress signal across the stars.STEAM, audio processing, creative coding, timing, choreography.Synchronizes complex motor movements to musical beats, disguising a galactic transmission as an Earth art performance.

Act II: Cyber Warfare & Preparation

Objective: Defend against Empire hackers, gather off-world resources, and secure the perimeter while building the foundation of a new fleet.

5. Cyber Defense: The Rebel Frequency
The Hack: The Saduka rebels reply, but the Shadow Empire is jamming the signal and attempting to hack the base! Campers establish secure radio comms and build firewalls.Cybersecurity basics, radio frequency (RF) communication, encryption, networking.Uses onboard radio modules to send and receive secure data packets while running scripts to block “enemy” interference.
Kids will learn hands‑on “hacker‑style” skills by writing programs that intercept, monitor, and even hijack communication channels. Once they understand how attacks work, they’ll dive into encryption, authentication, and authorization to build secure, trustworthy connections. These skills will help Robot PU establish safe communication links with Planet Saduka.
Over the five‑day program, the kids will take part in a series of fun hacker‑themed challenges where they can show off their new abilities and compete in friendly games.
6. Autonomous Navigators: The Labyrinth
The Scavenger Hunt: To build a new ship, PU must navigate dangerous, abandoned Earth facilities. Campers program self-driving rovers to solve mazes and find parts.Algorithms, spatial reasoning, path finding, logic and looping.Utilizes sensors to autonomously map environments and execute escape algorithms.
7. Robot Boxing League: Close Combat
First Defense: Empire scouting drones have discovered the base! The kids must engineer and program specialized, fast-striking boxing robots to defend their perimeter.Kinematics, center of gravity, rapid response programming, mechanical linkages.Processes rapid sensor inputs and controls fast-twitch servo movements for quick dodging and physical striking.
8. Mars Rover Expedition: Powering the Fleet

Resource Gathering: The new fleet needs immense power. Campers build solar-powered, all-terrain rovers to harvest green energy and crystals from harsh, Mars-like environments.Green energy, mechanical physics, planetary exploration, resource management.Acts as the rover’s core command center, managing solar power distribution, battery life, and harsh environmental sensors.

Act III: The Infiltration & The Liberation

Objective: Assemble the combat fleet, launch into space, infiltrate the planetary blockade via a sports tournament, and defeat the Shadow Empire.

9. WarriorBots Arena: The Robot Army
Building the Vanguard: War is imminent. Using 3D printing and laser cutters, the kids design, manufacture, and program heavy-duty combat robots for PU’s liberation fleet.CAD design, mechanical engineering, rapid prototyping, competitive strategy.Serves as the tactical brain of the combat drones, controlling drivetrains and executing remote commands for defensive mechanisms.
10. Space XYZ Aerospace: Blast Off!

The Launch: It is time to go home. Campers engineer water rockets, parachutes, and space gliders to launch Captain PU and his fleet back into the cosmos.Aerodynamics, aerospace engineering, physics, structural design.Functions as the payload flight computer, logging launch acceleration data, calculating trajectories, and deploying parachutes.
11. Robot Soccer: The Saduka Cup
The Disguise: A massive Empire blockade surrounds Saduka. To sneak past, Captain PU and the fleet enter the planet’s grandest sporting event. Campers program a cooperative robot soccer team to win matches as a cover.Omnidirectional movement, computer vision/color tracking, multi-agent cooperation, vector math.Acts as the team captain, using cameras or infrared sensors to track the ball, calculate angles for passes, and coordinate plays with allied robots.
12. Galactic Defenders: Battle for Saduka

The Liberation: The final battle! Campers build foam-dart launching robots to help Captain PU tactically defeat the Shadow Empire and reclaim his home planet.Projectile physics, tactical programming, structural integrity, target acquisition.Tracks movement, controls targeting sensors, and precisely angles firing mechanisms to defeat the Empire and secure victory.
